Collar works with the piloted cutter allows for accurate and consistent cutting depths on the face and crown of a barrel.

Instructions for Use

Facing: When using this system for facing or re-cutting the muzzle of the barrel, in which case the barrel will have a smaller diameter than the cutter, orient the Stop Collar on the cutter in a way such that the cupped end of the Collar faces the cutter blades. The included Stop Blocks will be used in order to achieved the desired depth of cut. Place the Stop Blocks around the barrel and gently tighten the wing nuts. Ensure that the pilot and cutter are oiled, insert the pilot into the bore until the cutter reaches the barrel. Adjust the Stop Blocks in order to achieve the desired amount you would like to take off of the barrel.

Crowning: When using this system for crowning the muzzle of the barrel, in which case the barrel will have a larger diameter than the cutter, orient the Stop Collar on the cutter in a way such that the flat end of the Collar faces the cutter blades.

Notes: Always rotate the cutter clockwise, rotating counter clockwise will dull the cutter blades. Remember to insure that the pilot and cutter are always well lubricated.
