RAS MKIII Tuner family brings the next generation of features to rifle tuning and accuracy. RAS are the only tuners to incorporate elasticmeric damping into the tuner design.

The RAS MK III system typically provide 40% - 70% reduction in group size.
The RAS MK III system typically provide substantial reduction in recoil.

A barrel tuner works to dampen harmonics. When a rifle is fired it sets up four modes of simultaneous vibration in the barrel.

Barrel Stretch
Barrel Swell
Barrel Torsional Twist
Barrel Radial Bend

It is the last two that are primary concern for accuracy.

In a RAS tuner the center muzzle brake portion that screws onto the barrel is like the center ring of a harmonic balancer. The adjustable outside ring (tuning ring) is like the outer ring on the balancer. The O-ring compressed between the two rings is like the rubber center. By turning the two rings it changes the tune on the barrel.

To aid in this process RAS provides a stick on label with marks 0.050" apart and 36 marks engraved on the tuning ring for reference.
