1 - 700 SA Remington receiver machined with M40 Darpa Cut & marked U.S. over serial number (serial # prefix may vary)
Recoil Lug widths:
- Original M40 and M40A1: Factory spec recoil lugs for original M40 and M40A1 rifles were 0.187" thick.
- M40A3 and M40A5: The M40A3 and M40A5 Rifles included a heavier duty recoil lug measuring in at 0.312" thick.
- Modern Military contract rifles: Modern military contract rifles use whatever fits their needs in the field, usually opting for a variety of thicker lugs to increase stability in the stock's bedding.
Raceway is opened using a PTG guided raceway reamer
A PTG Remington Gen II receiver reamer is used to put I.D to proper diameter and to center line, true receiver lugs, and make receiver lugs and action face parallel.
A PTG piloted tap mandrel is used to chase the threads making them more true to center line.
A PTG bolt is fitted to the action, and the face of the bolt is trued while in the action.
